Taiwan has a developed economy that is classified among the high-income economies by the World Bank. The island's foreign trade has been one of the main reasons for its rapid growth over the past forty years, especially trade with its neighbor China. The following is a list of Taiwan's most significant exports.
Export in Taiwan
In 2019, Taiwan shipped $329 billion worth of goods, a 17 percent increase from 2015, and a 1.9 percent decline from 2018.
China imports 27 percent of Taiwan's exports, while the rest goes to the United States (14 percent), Hong Kong (12 percent), and Japan (7 percent).
The other largest importers from Taiwan are Singapore with 5 percent, South Korea with 5 percent, Vietnam with 3 percent, Malaysia with 2 percent, and Germany with 2 percent.
Regarding continental ranking, 72 percent of Taiwan's exports go to Asia, 15 percent to North America, and 9 percent to Europe.

Machinery and electrical equipment account for 44 percent of Taiwan's total annual exports, and this category of exports provides the country with an estimated revenue of 147 billion dollars.
Other major exports are plastics and plastic materials ($19 billion), optical and technical equipment ($15 billion), oil ($12 billion), and vehicles ($10 billion).
